Embassy-Ladies-Alligator-Embossed-HandbagIn the quality garment and fashion accessory market, Italian craftsmanship is synonymous with quality. Italy is home to such highly touted brands as Gucci and Giovanni Navarre. Its leather schools and factories have set the standard for efficient production and innovative design. It’s no surprise, then, that fashion-savvy consumers have taken notice.

For many women, an Italian leather handbag is just as much a status symbol as it is a functional carryall. When slung stylishly over a lady’s shoulder, the bag screams sophistication and attention to detail. But that’s not discount the practical aspects of leather handbags; synthetic materials are no substitute for leather’s impressive durability.

Chewing Gum on a Leather Bag

Leather PurseChewing gum on a leather purse or bag can be a nuisance but might not be fatal for your favorite apparel. I did some research when my friends leather coach purse was almost destroyed by chewing gum. I needed to find out if it was salvageable. We found a lot of different ideas on how to get rid of the gum without ruining the leather purse.

We found the best result with no damage to her purse was first scrapping of any of the excess gum. We mixed a mild dish soap with lukewarm water, mixing it up to create a lot of suds. Then applying only the foam with a sponge to the affected area until the gum was gone. Dry with a clean cloth. After the purse was dried then we applied a leather cleaner.

If you’ve recently purchased a leather purse, it’s very likely that you are looking for ways to ensure it stays looking its best. After all, many people shy away from leather bags because of the potential for damage. But with a little bit of care and few precautions, you can take your leather bag with you almost anywhere without having to worry about permanent damage.

For one, make sure that you look into basic leather care additives. These waxes or protective layers can be added to the leather when you first purchase the item, and it will serve as a safeguard against water damage or cracks in the leather. Also, even with this protective coating, avoid water exposure as much as possible. If you’re caught in the rain, shield the leather bag under an umbrella or your coat. If it does get a bit wet, though, don’t worry. Just wipe dry as soon as possible.

Mickey Dolenz/handmade leather bagMickey Dolenz of the famous band “The Monkeys” had seen a handmade leather bag that was intended to use as a pocket pouch to protect your crystal in your pocket. When he noticed on a display he saw a leather pouch for his vitamins that he carries with him.

This was a concept that I did not think of before. What a great idea. A lot of people carry around there vitamins waiting for their next meal to take them with. The leather pocket pouch was ideal for holding them with easy access and it is much more stylish than carrying around a pill box. For the great idea thank you Mr. Dolenz

liz-bondsWhen we went to the MTV movie awards we met Liz Bonds (Barry Bonds) wife. She is a beautiful woman with an incredibly classy look. Liz and her lovely guest who I am so sorry we never got her name came over to our table and looked at our many items to gift to them. They especially liked the handmade leather bag line.

Liz picked out many different stones from our basket to fill her personal pouch. She chose some of my many favorites. It is such an honor to know that a little piece of our family is being worn by one of the most beautiful people I have ever met. Thank you Liz bonds.

Crystals In My World

Quartz crystalI have read many books and reference guides on stones and crystals. They are my favorite gifts from God as they have been a constant in my life.  Crystals and stones have been confirmation, affirmation, signs, and a frequency of love.

My favorite are clear quartz crystals which is why I adorn and place in each handmade leather bag I create. Quartz crystal is far the most versatile and multidimensional stone in the mineral world. Quartz is programmable and when used during meditation and visualisation with the image of one’s intention the crystal has the effect of amplification.  When programming with the same crystal numerous inner and otter events seem to conspire synchronistically to bring about the manifestation of my prayer.

The quartz crystal resonates with all chakras. It will amplify the energy of all other stones and will make the energy of many smaller stones more easily felt. What I would love to see is all philanthropist on the earth carrying a quartz crystal with them during there wonderful and worldly deeds to bathe the Earth and humanity in specific frequencies of energy for the purpose of earth healing.

Black PouchBeing a skeptic and non-believer in anything outside of what was right in front of me, I felt empty. I became pregnant and went searching for a belief or way of life other than my own to begin my family in. I searched everywhere reading spiritual books, Edgar Cayce, Silvia Brown. Then listening to audio tapes from John Edward, reading books like The Secret of the Butterfly Lovers by Keith Richardson.

All this knowledge was an awakening for me. I felt like I finally belonged and knew where I was going. I bought crystals to help with focusing energy and I keep them in a handmade leather bag. I  was given a gift of tea leaf reading cards that help me understand what I am going through in my day. I found a way of life that was so much more than I ever had before and am so grateful that I can share that now being a mother.

Handmade Leather PouchI found this article by Paula Bidwell. She is writing about the history about handmade leather pouches. This artical made so much sense to me. I shared this with my family and they loved it. I wanted to share it with everyone.

“A Native American medicine bag is a small leather bag or pouch that contains various healing objects. They are often painted or beaded with designs specific for the wearer. This is done to entice or invoke the spirit of the animal, figure or symbol.

What’s inside is another story. A medicine bag can contain innumerable objects. These objects are as unique as the person wearing it. Many people add their own “medicine” or healing objects. Although, most often a medicine person or indigenous healer will make the bag and add the contents. Common medicine bag objects are stones, ash from a ceremony fire, roots and barks, herbs, feathers, dirt from a ceremonial ground, or wood from a tree struck by lightening.

Many people like their medicine bags very ornate and fancy, but in reality the bag should be downplayed. This is especially true when a medicine bag is made for protection, for instance, protection from jealousy, enemies, negativity, bad spirits, illness and the list goes on and on. A medicine bag is kind of like an “ace up your sleeve”. Or maybe like a spray can of mace or another self defense weapon. You keep it handy, but you don’t wave it around or threaten folks with it.

Medicine bags or pouches last a long time. They are made of leather and are extremely durable. But there comes a time when the medicine bag just wears out. The neck cord has broken so often it may look like a string of knots. The leather has worn down and looks like it’s been left out in the rain too long. What do you do with it at this stage? You can take the contents of the bag out and put them into another bag or you can leave the contents in the bag. You take the bag to a remote location. Somewhere that people seldom go to. Then hang the medicine bag or pouch in a tree where it’s barely visible.

The helping birds such as ravens, crows, eagles, or hawks and the “invisible beings” such as angels or guardians will disassemble the bag and remove all traces of it. Some people have been known to bury their bags. But this isn’t recommended. In the earth the bag will continue to exist and the special medicine belonging to it could be dug up and innocently or not so innocently misused. There are stories of ancient medicine pouches that were found, taken home or put in a museum and then all sorts of terrible things began to happen. Anyway, it is much better to let the angelic beings and our helper birds take care of something as precious as a medicine bag.”
