leather briefcase/laptop caseI had no idea when buying a laptop that buying a briefcase for it was just as hard. I thought the hard part was over when I had to choose for three hours which laptop to buy. So of course I looked into something to carry my new computer around in.

This was quite the challenge when faced with backpack styles, nylons, leather, pink, or black. So I kept looking until I had found the most perfect one. I needed to know  the dimensions of my laptop in case I wanted a smaller and sleeker bag, what kind of material, and most important to me is should it be flashy or plain. I ended up with the final decision being a very stylish very beautiful leather briefcase that looks like a designer handbag. I am very pleased with the product and I am very glad I looked around instead of buying the plain black nylon case the salesmen tried to sell me when I bought my laptop.

Leather Purse for Real Estate Agents

leather shopping bag/travel bagMy aunt is a real estate agent and she is always carrying here papers, folders, and keys to a home in her rather large purse when showing a home to a client. She was talking about how she did not want to carry a briefcase around for her files because she might feel to business like and she just wants to be relaxed while meeting with potential clients.

Knowing that she needed something more organized than her oversized purse her brother (my father) suggested a leather purse like shopping bag. Leather is very classy and sophisticated he told her and you can find them large enough for your files and any other things you might need for showing the houses. I thought that was very insightful of my father to suggest. The next time we saw her she had a brand new bag perfect for all her needs.

Leather Care and Maintenance

leather bag

If you’ve recently purchased a leather purse, it’s very likely that you are looking for ways to ensure it stays looking its best. After all, many people shy away from leather bags because of the potential for damage. But with a little bit of care and few precautions, you can take your leather bag with you almost anywhere without having to worry about permanent damage.

For one, make sure that you look into basic leather care additives. These waxes or protective layers can be added to the leather when you first purchase the item, and it will serve as a safeguard against water damage or cracks in the leather. Also, even with this protective coating, avoid water exposure as much as possible. If you’re caught in the rain, shield the leather bag under an umbrella or your coat. If it does get a bit wet, though, don’t worry. Just wipe dry as soon as possible.

Handmade Hair Feather Clips

leather wrapped hair featherI have had the most interesting two days. It started with my best friend getting a e-mail yesterday asking if their business could supply some hair pieces that they have for Destinee Monroe’s sixteenth birthday party. “Wow…how exciting”, is all I could say, but what they do not know is the hair pieces are homemade and they wanted seventy-five by Saturday for gift bags. Mind you these hair pieces are feathers that have been found over the years, wrapped with recycled or scrapped leather, decorated with gem stones, and put on different hair clips…each one is unique, and time consuming to make. We put together thirty-six in time to get them to them by Saturday.

I started not knowing how to make these feather hair pieces, and now want to try to start a new line of handmade hair feather pieces for them. The enjoyment and relaxation that came from making them was unreal. Even though we were rushed, the atmosphere was wonderful, and I cannot wait to see these beautiful leather wrapped hair pieces on the heads of these beautiful teenagers.

June5,09 013The Native American wear feathers pointed down to represent that they came in peace. I wear handmade hair feathers  in my hair to remind me I am a Spiritual being having a human experience and that I can fly high with Great Spirit.
The stones remind me to remain grounded to Mother Earth’s energy, for I am also a child of earth.

So with these lovingly made pieces…

May you walk in Peace,
May you soar High,
May your Presence
Bring God’s love light
To Mother Earth and her Children.

Leather As A By-Product

Faux leather purseIn researching leather as a by-product I came up with both aspects of people for leather, and people against leather.  Both aspects have their pros and cons. For example some sources say that in the leather industries the raw materials are by-products of the meat industry, with the meat having higher value than the skin. For example, the beef we get from the cow is worth more than the leather its skin provides.

However, Vegans might say that to purchase a leather purse or leather coat would be supporting the cruelty of animals. They would argue the fact of leather being a by-product and would not purchase anything that came from any animal ant any time. Vegans might choose faux leather products which are made out of nylon or PVC forms of plastics. This is a question that will go on for generations.

Mickey Dolenz Handmade Leather Bag

Mickey Dolenz/handmade leather bagMickey Dolenz of the famous band “The Monkeys” had seen a handmade leather bag that was intended to use as a pocket pouch to protect your crystal in your pocket. When he noticed on a display he saw a leather pouch for his vitamins that he carries with him.

This was a concept that I did not think of before. What a great idea. A lot of people carry around there vitamins waiting for their next meal to take them with. The leather pocket pouch was ideal for holding them with easy access and it is much more stylish than carrying around a pill box. For the great idea thank you Mr. Dolenz

Orlando Jordan/leather passport coverDuring our adventure in Studio City, California for the MTV movie awards we met some of the WWE wrestlers. Orlando Jordan and Gene Snitsky were some of the biggest men I have ever seen. They are also the nicest people I have ever met. Talking to them was a pleasure.

Orlando Jordan saw the leather passport cover and had made the comment that they travel a lot and that would be ideal for him to have. I am so glad that they have something that helps them in all of their travels all over the world.

liz-bondsWhen we went to the MTV movie awards we met Liz Bonds (Barry Bonds) wife. She is a beautiful woman with an incredibly classy look. Liz and her lovely guest who I am so sorry we never got her name came over to our table and looked at our many items to gift to them. They especially liked the handmade leather bag line.

Liz picked out many different stones from our basket to fill her personal pouch. She chose some of my many favorites. It is such an honor to know that a little piece of our family is being worn by one of the most beautiful people I have ever met. Thank you Liz bonds.
